MURRIETA, CA– Yesterday, February 13th 2018, over 400 job-seekers attended the City’s “Spring Into Action” job fair hosted at the Murrieta Innovation Center. Companies such as Pechanga, Wells Fargo, The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and more were in attendance seeking qualified individuals to join their teams. In total there were 37 organizations seeking to hire qualified employees in areas such as education, hospitality, medical, industrial, customer service, warehouse production, security, food service and more!
Attendees to the job fair were from mostly local areas. One attendee, Tyava Winborne, said she wanted, “to find something closer to home,” Winborne also said she currently commutes 5 ½ hours a day roundtrip to her job at the Barstow Respiratory Hospital. She had this to say about the commute, “It’s exhausting, it’s very tiring”. Through events like these, The City and the Chamber are working hard to create opportunities for residents to live, work and play in Murrieta.
One detail that made this job fair stand-out was the City’s partnership with the non-profit, Before the Transition. Before the Transition helps people develop the skills they need to succeed at finding a job. The non-profit was offering free suits, shoes, and other professional attire to individuals at the event.
The City is planning hosting another Job Fair event in the near future, stay tuned for more details. For video footage of the event please contact Alexandra Nay, 951-461-6119 or email@example.com
